CatNet® at IUM

CatNet® powers proactive risk mitigation with location intelligence data through assessing risk by combining hazard, loss, exposure and insurance information with selected background maps and satellite imagery.

In 2019, IUM implemented the use of Swiss Re's CatNet® software. CatNet® provides a web-based natural hazard exposure analysis and mapping tool to assess and visualise natural hazard exposure anywhere in the world.

CatNet® supports a wide range of business processes – from improved single risk assessments to risk engineers conducting surveys, providing exposure insights and location data set analysis for accumulation control.

With 100% global coverage, CatNet® allows users to benefit from one solution with globally consistent, high-resolution NatCat data to measure and benchmark exposure for any location across the globe. In addition to this, 20 years of experience in the industry and an easy to handle, flexible geo-tool, CatNet® allows for easy and seamless identification of issues that would otherwise remain undetected.

IUM makes use of Swiss Re's range of proprietary geo-risk tools designed to provide swift overviews and assessments of natural hazard exposures.

IUM uses CatNet® in every location to assess the risk, from individual locations to entire portfolios, by combining hazard, loss, exposure and insurance information with selected background maps and satellite imagery, making use of maps and data about climate change, catastrophic event impact, population density and more to support underwriting decisions.
